Broilers, layers, and breeders today are more susceptible to infectious and metabolic diseases, resulting in high mortality. There has been an increase in interest in feed additives with immunomodulatory properties in intensive poultry production in recent years. The use of yeast derivatives may have a beneficial impact on the immune system and resistance to the colonization of pathogenic bacteria. However, the positive effect of yeast derivatives on the immune system is not always reflected in an improvement in production parameters.

GLUCAN-X™

GLUCAN-X, is the Yeast Cell Wall fraction derived from the processing of yeast to produce yeast extract for human consumption. Containing a high concentration of mannan oligosaccharides (MOS) and beta-glucans (1,3 and 1,6),derived from selected strains of Saccharomyces Cerevisiae.

  • 1,3/1,6 β-glucans can aid both innate and adaptive immunity to boost long-term immunity to disease. This enhanced immunity can be passed to offspring.
  • β-glucans are known to counteract inflammatory disorders by modulating the immune response. This frees up energy, allowing more energy to be used for other bodily systems to optimise performance
  • GLUCAN-X can act as an immuno-modulator and an immuno-enhancer depending on the disease status of the animal.
